Call of Duty - Nazi Zombies
- Download and install according to this guide
Basically, download the game/launcher, create an account, and that's it - If you want to save space on your C:\ Drive, make a junction for %USER%/AppData/Local/Plutonium
- Save WaW custom maps to ~/Plutonium/storage/t4/mods
Epic Games
- Create an account for Epic Games
- Download either Heroic or Legendary; if Heroic, the rest is simple and doesn't need instruction
- For Legendary, place the lone .exe file in whatever folder you want it
- (Optional) Open Control Panel, search for "Environmental Variables" and select "Edit for your account." Scroll down to Path and double click to edit, then add the path to the folder where you put Legendary
- Open CMD or Powershell and type Legendary auth
- Use "legendary list-games" and then "legendary install name" to download games
- (Optional) Add games to other launchers by adding the legendary.exe and adding the "launch [game]" parameter in the launch options
Note: if you don't run it directly in CMD/Powershell, Legendary will not alert you if you need to update out-of-date games. If the game doesn't launch, this is usually why.
GZDoom
- (Optional) Decide where you want your files, set up a file structure like this
- ~/DOOM/Source Ports/
- ~/DOOM/WADS/
- Acquire the IWADS, namely DOOM 2, and extract to ~/DOOM/WADS/IWADS
- Download GZDoom and extract to ~/DOOM/Source Ports/GZDOOM vX.X.X
- Download ZDoom Launcher and place in ~/DOOM
- Launch ZDL and click the second tab at the top, labeled General Settings
- Under Source Ports, either drag and drop the .exe files or navigate to them with the [+] button
- Under IWADs, do the same but with the core IWAD files for DOOM, DOOM 2, etc.
- Click back to Launch Config
- On the right, set the Source Port to GZDoom and the IWAD to Doom II: Hell on Earth
- On the left, add whatever files you want to load into DOOM
- If joining a game, add -join X.X.X.X:XXXX to the command line arguments box
- If hosting a game, add -host X (x = # of players) and -port XXXX
Occasionally, you might need to add +map MAPXX
Any other source ports, like Zandronum, can be installed and ran through this launcher in the same way as GZDoom
